Throughout Norman Zapien’s 40 plus year career he has spanned the globe in search of excellence in our ever changing and highly accelerated hair industry.  

From owner of Submarine Salon in Beverly Hills, to educational director for Paul Mitchell in New York City, and an educator at Vidal Sassoon in London, he has climbed and mastered the pinnacles of the highest peaks of the business.  

In addition to his work behind the chair where he specializes in long hair, curly hair, razor cutting, and highlights and his work as an educator, his stage work has propelled him to find a place as a member of the International Fashion Group.  Norman has also been a guest artist on both CNN and Fashion Emergency on E* Channel, a hair consultant for Delta’s flight attendant staff, as well as a wedding consultant for many beautiful brides throughout the world. Norman currently owns and operates Zapein's Salon at Lake Oconee in Greensboro Georgia, and Zapein's Salon in the prestigious neighborhood of Buckhead in Atlanta. 

Excellence is a high mark, but for Norman, it is only a starting point. 

Jerimy began his career in 2001, when he began working for Van Michael in Atlanta, GA. In 2003 he then teamed up with Norman Zapien at Zapien's Salon in Atlanta. Jerimy is the Salon Coordinator and Stylist Assistant at our Atlanta Location.  Jerimy calls home Atlanta, Ga.  In his spare time, Jerimy enjoys music , Art, and is always educating himself with the creativity of Hair.  Jerimy is very dedicated and driven. 

Michael began his career as a stylist in 1971. A year later he began his work at the prestigious Vidal Sassoon Salon in NYC as an apprentice. For the next 8 years he worked at Vidal Sassoon in NYC with occasional trips to Atlanta to work in the Atlanta Vidal Sassoon Salon. In 1980 Michael began his association with Jamison & Don Shaw hairdressers in Atlanta and furthered his career there for the next 5 years. He joined the team at Van Michael in 1985 and in 2007 he teamed up with Norman Zapien where he enthusiastically uses his vast experience to serve clients and help them with their choices in hair colour and haircuts at Zapien’s Salon. Michael is an expert haircutter and colourist and he enjoys explaining new choices to update and soften our client’s style. He is also certified in a New and Exciting straightening process that employs Keratin Protein to smooth and tame unruly hair.

Richard joined Norman Zapien at Zapien's Salon in 1990 as an assistant for 6 years, then reunited with Norman in 2009. Richard was an army brat and has lived in Germany, New York, Washington D.C., Hawaii, and now calls Atlanta, Georgia home.  Richard studied painting at the Atlanta College of Arts and graduated with  BFA in 1984.  Richard eventually became  a Hair Colorist and Makeup Artist, which came very natural to him.  In Richard's spare time he is the  leader of his band called "Richard Bickwell and the Shakedusters".  They are currently recording their 4th record.
What Richard loves most about working at Zapien's Salon is that his work is never boring.  Everyone that sits in his chair is a unique individual.  He enjoys keeping people looking and feeling their best.
