Throughout Norman Zapien’s 40 plus year career he has spanned the globe in search of excellence in our ever changing and highly accelerated hair industry.  

From owner of Submarine Salon in Beverly Hills, to educational director for Paul Mitchell in New York City, and an educator at Vidal Sassoon in London, he has climbed and mastered the pinnacles of the highest peaks of the business.  

In addition to his work behind the chair where he specializes in long hair, curly hair, razor cutting, and highlights and his work as an educator, his stage work has propelled him to find a place as a member of the International Fashion Group.  Norman has also been a guest artist on both CNN and Fashion Emergency on E* Channel, a hair consultant for Delta’s flight attendant staff, as well as a wedding consultant for many beautiful brides throughout the world.  Norman currently owns and operates Zapein's Salon at Lake Oconee in Greensboro Georgia, and Zapein's Salon in the prestigious neighborhood of Buckhead in Atlanta.   

Excellence is a high mark, but for Norman, it is only a starting point. 

Kathryn has taught the art of cosmetics and hair styling at Athens Technical College in Athens, GA for many years. Over the years she has become known more for specialty work.  She specializes in Commercial work, extensions, black-tie events, fantasy make-up and on-location work. She is an Atlanta based Master Cosmetologist and a published hairstylist and make-up artist.  She is also part owner of Zapien's Salon at Lake Oconee, in Greensboro, GA.

Conrad moved to Greensboro Georgia from York, P.A. at the end of 2009. He has completed extensive advanced hair cutting training with Nick Arrogo at Arrogo Studio, Candy Shaw at Jamison Shaw, and Musaki at J Beverly Hills. Through this education he has been able to specialize in cutting-edge French, Japanese and British hair cutting techniques. He’s also received extensive specialized colour training, and loves implementing amazing cuts with incredible colour. Conrad’s passion is working with long sexy hair. But he also likes working with thick curly hair, mid to long hair and short funky hair. He is especially skilled at creating waves in fine hair with razor and sliding techniques that allow volume and wave to spring up. Om his own time, Conrad enjoys traveling to the beach and loves anything that has to do with the water from Kayaking to just enjoying the sun and the sand.

Originally from Tampa, Florida, Eric attended Tampa Barber College. He spent 12 years working for Carter – Barnes in Buckhead, Atlanta at Phipps Plaza and the East Paces Ferry locations. He joined Zapien’s in April 2010 and specializes in custom design cutting, color and highlights; he is certified in Keratin hair smoothing treatments. Eric is meticulous when it comes to his work. His creativeness overflows from his art to music as he enjoys writing his own music and playing guitar. Eric enjoys riding motorcycles, skating, bowling and flying 4-control planes for fun.

Renata has 12 years of experience in the hair industry and joined the Zapien’s team in May 2011. She is a Certified Extensionist (New Concepts) and a Certified Hair Replacement Therapist (New Concepts) which not only enables her to express her creativeness but it also gives her the ability to help those dealing with hair loss from natural causes and diseases such as Alopecia and Cancer. Renata’s education also consists of Advanced Cutting Classes (Pivot Point), Premier Orlando Hair Show workshops, and IBS Las Vegas training. She has had the privilege of working as one of the stylist on Carrie Underwood’s wedding that took place at the Ritz-Carlton at Lake Oconee as well as other celebrity weddings. Renata is very artistic and creative and loves people. Being a stylist has allowed her the opportunity to unleash her creative side while allowing her clients to the see the true beauty that lies within them. She treasures educating her clients on how to style their hair so that when they leave her chair, they are confident they can achieve the same results at home. Renata enjoys modeling and acting and has been a featured extra on Tyler Perry’s House of Pain twice. She has a love for fashion, dancing and music but particularly loves playing the drums.

 

Savannah is one of the few who can say that she was born and raised in the small town of Greensboro, GA. She originally joined Zapien’s in April 2007 where she began her career in Cosmetology. In June 2010 she left Zapien’s to attend Athens Tech full time where she studied Master Cosmetology and reunited with Norman and his team in July 2011. Savannah has attended classes with Great Clips, Spa Girl, J Beverly Hills, Redken and Global Keratin.  She loves meeting new people and making them feel happy by doing what she enjoys most.  In her free time she loves traveling, dancing, a good Lifetime movie and spending time with family and friends.

A fashionista in every sense of the word, Shanna loves being creative. After studying at Athens Technical College she fell in love with the hair industry. She’s attended hair shows and workshops in Birmingham Alabama, Orlando Florida, and most recently she traveled to IBS Las Vegas with the Zapien’s team. Shanna joined Zapien’s in May 2010. She is passionate about color and enjoys the creative outlet she experiences everyday at Zapien’s. Her clients always appreciate Shanna’s fun-loving and witty demeanor; she makes it a point to surround herself with positive people because it keeps her motivated. Shanna’s favorite thing about her career is helping people feel great about themselves, which is the most rewarding aspect of what she does.
